Avalon, Art & Astros

We found out very quickly that the weather in Texas can pretty much change in an instant!  So, we started our very chilly morning with a hearty breakfast at the Avalon Diner.  We then took a walk through The Menil Collection to see some thought provoking art and along the way Babbitt found his favorite supermarket...H-E-B (we mistakenly call it The Heb though.)  Once it warmed up some we biked through the city to see The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, Tranquility Park & the Downtown Aquarium.  We also cheered the Houston Astros to victory in their state of the art stadium.

We split the Big Breakfast & couldn't have been happier

Instead of paying to get in...we took a self guided tour & saw most of the grounds

They also have a working locomotive that runs when the team hits a homerun

The Astros beat the Indians 3-2
Babbitt was even interviewed by a local news team after the game
We do not think the interview aired though
