The City Of Destiny

If you are ever in the Seattle, WA area, we highly suggest swinging by Tacoma, WA!  This hidden gem was the perfect place to spend the day & the 45-minute drive really prepared us for big city life in Seattle.
Frisko Freeze in Tacoma, WA
After our jog along the water on Ruston Way we decided to treat ourselves
with a Hot Fudge Milkshake & a leisurely stroll through Wright Park
Flat Hank in front of Stadium High School in Tacoma, WA
A hotel to service the railroad was the original plan for this building, but after losing funding
during a depression in the late 1800's lucky students in Tacoma got a stunning high school instead
Katie taking in Stadium High School's Stadium Bowl while remembering Heath Ledger
This campus was the backdrop for the school scenes in the
Heath Ledger "classic" 10 Things I Hate About You
Katie's exit from Stadium Bowl
Did we mention that the gates to the stadium were locked?
Well, Katie couldn't leave without seeing the bleachers where Heather Ledger serenaded Julia Stiles
& this was the only way in...if you're curious, seeing Babbitt's reenactment made it all worthwhile
Babbitt is not impressed on the 1916 Spanish Steps in Tacoma, WA
The AAA Book let us down yet again...these steps were suppose to be replicas of the steps in
Rome, Italy, but they just didn't have the same luster...we hear a renovation project is in the works
The O'Babbitt's along the Chihuly Bridge Of Glass in Tacoma, WA
We thought this bridge was actually made of glass, but were surprised instead by lovely works of art
Ezell's Famous Chicken in Seattle, WA
Spicy fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, gravy fries, spicy fried okra & fresh rolls
We wish we had a photo of Babbitt's now favorite fried chicken, but he ate it so fast that
Katie never had a chance to snap a photo...Thanks to Bob for the great recommendation
The Freemont Troll under the Auroa Bridge in Seattle, WA
After doughnuts at Top Pot (yes, we were still hungry) we had to see this guy

  2. Can I just tell you I am so jealous. I would oddly enjoy traveling with Brian and his Brian-isms. I want to be with you sooo bad. Can we all do this again when Mike and I retire?
