The City Of Roses

Cannon Beach was the farthest town we reached on the Oregon coast before crossing over to Portland, OR & although we missed the ocean breeze, it was nice to be back in a city.  We then followed Portland's unofficial motto & made sure to keep things weird while visiting their city parks, eating at food trucks, hanging with hipsters in Hawthorne, walking through farmer's markets, attending free concerts at the Old Church, shopping tax free, brunching at Mother's Bistro, waiting in line for doughnuts & sipping cocktails while watching Breakfast At Tiffany's on the big screen!

The O'Babbitt's in front of Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, OR
As we walked the beach to get here, Babbitt was very underwhelmed...we had been promised lots
of puffins & none were to be found, plus after this photo was taken a seagull nearly pooped on our heads

BUT, as soon as the best tidepools we've seen so far came into view his mood really improved
The city of Portland from the International Rose Test Garden at Washington Park in Portland, OR
There are so many parks in Portland that we started to panic a bit...we tried to jog through Forest Park,
but couldn't find it & ended up at a park that really had everything from great trails to Japanese Gardens

Katie tried to warn Babbitt about the line for these pastries, but he didn't believe her
After waiting 40 minutes though we were able to bite into the Maple Bacon & Raspberry Romeo

Giant fountains are one of our favorite surprises in downtown cities
Katie sipping her Breakfast At Tiffany's cocktail before the film at the Backstage Bar
Even though the movie was tough to hear & Babbitt was a bit creeped out by Audrey Hepburn's
character, watching this classic film with old timey cocktails & delicious food couldn't have been better
Babbitt savoring his cigar at Greater Trumps
After the movie we couldn't resist happy hour at the Cigar Bar next door
