The O'Babbitt's in Juneau, AK
Other than the predatory tour salesman, the town of Juneau was quite cute near the
cruise port, but as we walked a bit farther things got dicey very quickly |

The Mendenhall Glacier in the Tongass National Forest
This unreal photo was taken only 30 minutes away from downtown Juneau |

The O'Babbitt's with Nugget Falls
These rushing falls were right next to the Mendenhall Glacier |

A Black Bear getting lunch in Steep Creek at the Mendenhall Glacier
We were lucky to see this bear with 2 cubs while waiting for our bus back to town...the viewing
platform was packed, but Babbitt was able to see this mama bear catch a salmon right in her jaws |

The O'Babbitt's on the Tram Trail to the top of Mt. Roberts with the city of Juneau in the background
We heard from a fellow cruiser that if you hiked to the top of this mountain the tram ride back
down was highly discounted & since we didn't have any other plans in Juneau, we decided to go for it |

Babbitt with the hiking bear atop Mt. Roberts
The 3-mile hike was much more difficult that we expected...this might have had something
to do with our new cruise diet, so once we reached the top, a long island ice tea was a must |

The O'Babbitt's leaving the tram & heading aboard the ship for lunch
Our afternoon was HOT in Juneau & before we set sail, we even got some pool time in |
Pool time in Alaska......who knew?!
ReplyDeleteThe city of Juneau's website could really use a facelift. I'm still amazed at your hyperlinking persistence, Katie.
