This Place Really Blows!

During our lengthy shuttle ride through Glacier National Park, we learned quite a few things from our new, Aussie friend, but what really stood out in our minds as we drove 379 miles to Yellowstone National Park was that he traveled the same long distance only days before (coming from the opposite direction) & thought the first ever National Park was overrated.  In the end, we persevered, stopped at a couple of notable restaurants to keep us going through the tiny towns & in our humble opinions couldn't have been more impressed with the features at Yellowstone!  Guess some opinions should be kept "out back."
Babbitt with The Best Pizza Ever at When In Rome in Bigfork, MT
We came for the name, but stayed for a pizza that won 2nd place at the International Pizza Competition
The kitchen was not in a hurry to make our pie, but the fresh field green salad, plus a pizza with
roasted red peppers, red onions, gorgonzola cheese, garlic & pepperoni on Babbitt's side made up for it
M&M Cigar Store in Butte, MT
Apparently this bar was Jack Kerouac's favorite...it even served booze during prohibition
Although we were driving through & couldn't stay for libations, we could see the small
town appeal, plus the laid back atmosphere & bar food were just right
Lower Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park - The largest geyser basin in the park
These features were the first we saw while driving to Old Faithful
We even saw a random geyser blow unexpectedly!
Midway Geyser Basin - Once known as "Hell's Half Acre"
We were hit in the face many times with this hot steam
that smelled like rotten eggs, but we didn't mind
Old Faithful in all its glory
When we were having second thoughts about visiting Yellowstone, we decided that as long
as we saw the legendary Old Faithful blow that we would be happy, so we made it a top priority
Flat Hank with Old Faithful
We read that in recent year's Old Faithful has become less & less reliable,
but after a few sputters it blew almost exactly at the time predicted
The O'Babbitt's along the Norris Geyser Basin - The hottest & oldest geyser basin in the park
Bison crossing the street right in front of the Rig
While in New Mexico Katie taught Babbitt a song she learned in 3rd grade, called The Buffalo
& His Brother...we couldn't help but break into song each time we saw these majestic beasts
Mud Volcano Area
We stumbled upon Tom's Ranger Led, Mud Volcano Ramble here,
which ended up being the perfect ending to a great day
