When we found out our favorite Chicago restaurant, Portillo's had made its way to California...we had to let Katie exercise her "flexetarian" rights & have her yearly dog on the West Coast! Babbitt then drove the girls straight to Disneyland Resort for some fun in the sun. BUT, when we got to the parks we found out that lots of attractions had been added since Anne & Katie had last been there...somehow we still managed to cram three days of activities into only two. Starting with Space Mountain, we rode all of the classics, plus the new ones, made our comparisons to Disney World & ended the night at a must see for all able bodied humans, the Captain Eo Tribute 3D Show with the one & only, Michael Jackson!

The O'Babbitt's at Portillo's in Moreno Valley, CA
Anne had a chili dog, Katie went with a hot dog plus cheese fries &
Babbitt had a bacon cheeseburger...with a Chicago Dog for dessert |

The recently remodeled Disneyland Hotel
The hotel location couldn't have been better, our room lit up while singing A Dream Is A Wish
Your Heart Makes & because we were hotel guests we were given early access to the parks each day...
this is something we never took advantage of before, but because of the time crunch we set our alarm clocks |
 |
Anne & Katie drinking to the good life at the updated Disneyland Hotel Pool
Hot Dogs, pools & monorail water slides...we couldn't think of a better way to spend the day |
 |
The O'Babbitt's in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle in Disneyland
Babbitt was a real trooper & made it to the park at 7:00 a.m. for the Extra Magic Hour
& stayed close to the parks closing time at midnight |
 |
Katie & Anne with the spunky Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow |
 |
Anne & Katie digging into the must have Pineapple Dole Whip Float in Adventureland
Babbitt opted for just the Pineapple Dole Whip...no one was complaining |
 |
Katie sipping the salty gumbo goodness at The Royal Street Veranda
Katie wasn't "flexing" after her hot dog & couldn't have been happier to see this veggie option
We didn't stop there, then we lunched at The Blue Bayou inside The Pirates Of The Caribbean Ride |
 |
Katie & Anne with Merida and her three bear cub brothers from Brave
As you can see, Babbitt wasn't as excited as the girls were to meet the characters |
So much fun....so little time....but we did ALOT!
